3D Modeling Tools:
Blender 3D - Blender is a 3D Computer Graphics and Animation Modeling package. It is still under developement and used by hundred of thousands of happy users. It too is a FREE program and it's the only one I use. I have demo'd other high end packages, however I personally believe that in the long run, Blender will outshine any and all other programs on the market. If you were ever curious about 3D Animation and Modeling, here is your answer. Download it, go to my Blender page to view some excellent video tutorials and give it a try. You have absolutely nothing to loose.
Audio Tools:
Real Player - Play's Real Media files. Advertisement driven if you don't purchase the full version. They call it Real Player, I call it Real Annoying. I hate anything advertisement driven, so I personally use the player below this one to get around the ads. I put this here out of fairness to Real Player because I had bought the original version years ago.
Media Player Classic - This is a rewrite that someone did of the Original Windows Media Player. This program will play just about any format you can find on the internet as well as play DVD's if you don't have DVD player software on your computer. It is the one that I use most. It lacks a few things that are nice in other players like a Graphic Equalizer, and Visualisation but I like it for it's compactness and performance. It comes automatically packaged with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack below. You can also download it from the link provided and get the Real Alternative Codec if all you want to use it for is to play the Real Media files located on my Blender page. I highly recommend going the Mega Codec Pack route if you wanna do more with it.
Real Alternative Codec - I'm guessing this is a hack someone did of the Real Player Codec as I was under the impression that the Real Codec was proprietary. Anyway, with this installed along with Media Player Classic, you are able to view and play Real Media types without having the Real Player installed. This codec is also included in the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack - With this Codec pack installed you can watch any and all media types using the Media Player Classic. The Player comes packaged with the Codec. All you have to do is one install and everything is taken care of for you.
Graphics Tools:
GIMP for Windows - GIMP for Windows is a graphics editing program thats as good as any retail package that you could buy on the market. The only difference in my opinion is that its FREE!. I like that more than anything.
GIMPShop for Windows - GIMPShop for Windows is a hack of the GIMP Program. It was designed for those that are or were used to Adobe Photoshop. Its creator came up with the idea to hopefully encourage those using the pirated versions of Photoshop to try GIMPShop and stop stealing software. I have used it at times but am still learning how to use it. It seems like a very good program.
Computer Tools:
Folder2Iso - Folder2Iso is a neat little program that will alow you to take any folder on your harddrive and turn it into a .iso file. This is especially handy if you want to make a cd of your .blend files, graphics, tutorials, or anything else you can think of.
ISO Recorder - ISO Recorder is a neat little program that allows you to make copies of cd's and dvd's as well as the contents of a folder on your harddrive. It is more powerful than Folder2Iso but takes a little more experience to work with it.
